Queer Leiden University's journey began with Amix, our founder. Frustrated by the pandemic's isolating effects on queer students, Amix took a simple yet powerful step. They invited people seeking queer friendships to share their photos and fun facts on Instagram.

Amix's initiative together with the help of her team blossomed into a thriving collective, uniting our community. From book clubs, beach days, art exhibitions, and consent workshops, to BIPOC support events, parties, movie nights, speed dating, panel discussions, and much more…

Since the initial team efforts, QLU has consistently kept growing and organizing events and projects, offering support in The Hague and Leiden and beyond.

QLU owes its success to the contributions of many remarkable individuals. Together, we've worked towards creating a safer and closer-knit space for LGBTQIA+ people.
